Comexi’s work to promote Dual Vocational Training was one of the experiences that were presented at the Second Forum FP Dual Alliance held in late September in Madrid. During the forum they were presented and discussed initiatives to boost Dual Vocational Training and thus contribute to facilitate more young people to access to the labour market, thus reducing the rate of youth unemployment.

The experience of Comexi in promoting the Dual Vocational Training focuses on the training course on ‘Technician on Graphic Print and Converting’, the group promoted jointly with the Department of Education of the Generalitat, with the aim of providing skilled workers to the converting field, where there was no appropriate training. Comexi’s Academic Coordinator, Glòria Deulofeu, participated in the round table ‘Collaborative Dual Vocational Training models that goes further’, together with representatives of Siemens and Volvo companies.

In the last three years, about thirty students have been trained in this training course, taught jointly with the Institute of Santa Eugenia in Girona, in Comexi and in companies in the industry, through the Professional Driver Training. The rate of entry into the labour market is more than 80%, after completion of studies.
